I just got a 3D Printer

Kinja'd!!!

A creality ender 3x to be specific, I’m gonna be so broke buying filament and upgrades for this shitbox right here. Pictured is a set of iron sights I’m trying to sneak onto a rifle at work (military).

I’ve already printed a bunch of low-poly models of pokemon and dogs for the wife, daughter, roommates and such. I’ll be printing a lot of ‘The Expanse’ models soon (Season 4 comes out in a few months too!!!)

I’ve done a lot of 3D Printer stuff and printing / training from working at the local library! Been thinking about getting that same model printer for myself! How is it? :)

You can design and print lots of awesome car stuff! :D

Thingiverse is an awesome place to find models to print FYI, and you should learn to 3D model if you don’t know how already - Sketchup Free or Tinkercad are great places to start! :)

I’ve been toying with the idea of picking up a 3D printer lately. But since part of what I want to do is make belt carriers for random stuff I might be better off learning to (re) work kydex.

We also have an Ender 3. I printed cup holders for the classic Mini with it, so I feel the purchase was justified.

I’ve got a wanhao i3 that has been used the last 2 years that does OK, I’m waiting for the Ender 3 Pro to go on sale and then I’ll be ordering one to replace it as an upgrade here soon.

Man you are so far ahead of me, I just got my ender3  setup after months of not finding time and am finally set to start testing this weekend. That quality is reassuringly great though!

I’m getting a lot of stringing, but adjusting slicer settings seems to work well on transfer areas. I’ve done a few low-poly models with high success

Kydex is a royal bitch, you should do that for belt carriers.

For the money, and with the upgrades available for cheap, I’d do it again. Creality QC sucks, so be ready for needing tinkering, but it’s a solid beginner platform. Thingiverse is fantastic.

One popped up on ebay this morning at $170 and I snatched it.  Should have it here next week!

yeah aliexpress app had them at 170 for awhile, might still have them. 170 was just too good to pass up on this. I’m 11hrs into a 20hr print right now.
